Though registered under the Magic Origin, Braydon Frye Gilbert insists there's no real magic in what he does... but "Applied Hermetic Natural Phlogiston Theory" didn't fit on the registration sheet.

Nonetheless, after three years of practice, two failed attempts to pass the Powers Division admissions tests, and one instance of setting ablaze his facial hair, he has perfected a variety of powerful fulminating reagents (as well as a revolutionary fireproofing beard shampoo). He has no particular love of handguns, but he feels the pair of antique wheellock pistols he uses as foci lend a touch of elegance ? and besides, they're easier to carry than a calcinating furnace.

Equipped with a suitably imposing outfit (a "Scary Warlock" Halloween costume, $34.99 at a department store) he set out to help make the perfect world of Praetoria even perfect-er.
