FEMALE VOICE: [bitter laughter] Some reptile. Ryuko's "mother" would have eaten Saint George for breakfast.

MALE VOICE: So what IS it, then?

FEMALE VOICE: Stop saying "it." She's not an it, she's a she. Don't underestimate her; she's not an animal.

MALE VOICE: Sure, okay. Are there others like i- uh, like her?

FEMALE VOICE: No. Only survivor of her batch; kept killing her sibs. We separated her, but the others kept dying... that's when we realized she was getting out of her cage at night.

MALE VOICE: So she's smart? Like a monkey?

FEMALE VOICE: No, she's smart, like a human. She... I was using the pain-stimulus implants to train her. She looked in my eyes, and I knew she knew, knew it was me hurting her. That's why I ran away, ran here to your world. I just pray it's far enough.
