Heya. My name's Ram Ochs, or it was. I was comin' home from a long day working the docks in IP, when these funny guys in like soldier suits shot me with a stun gun. As everything goes black I hear one of 'em saying "Don't damage the host candidate."

I tell ya, you hear something like that, you know your day ain't gettin' any better.

I wake up tied to a big metal table, with weird gizmos all around me, and then there's this voice in my head, only not really a voice, but it's telling me I should shut up and obey and help it conquer the world and stuff, that I am the host vessel of the Catcher of Shadows.

Man, screw that.

That alien thing shoulda known never to pick a fight with a guy named Hiram. Grow up with a name like that, you learn to fight good and early. It tried to possess me, but I wound up possessing it, sorta. So now I'm a hero, 'cause that's what you're supposed to do when you got all these cool powers. An' I picked the name "Shadowcatcher" as our little joke.
