Character Bio

Once, Blightfire was John Issen... a name he barely remembers. A bright and sociable English Lit major at a university, he applied for a summer job with a small research firm... but the "small research firm" was a front for Crey Industries.

Officially, John died in a bus accident on the way to the job orientation. The truth is Crey was experimenting with drugs designed to neutralize the effects of radiation on the human body, and the two dozen interns who "died' in the bus accident were test subjects. After months of exposure to massive doses of drugs and radiation, John was the only survivor... and as an unexpected side effect, he developed the ability to project lethal levels of radiation.

Twisted by pain and hate, the man who had once been John Issen slaughtered his captors and fled the facility. Now he seeks to share his torment with the rest of the world. He calls himself "Blightfire," for the searing, lethal radiation he can project.
