Character Bio

The Colossus of Rhodes was a giant statue of the Greek god Helios, erected on the Greek island of Rhodes by Chares of Lindos, a student of Lysippos, between 292 and 280 BC. Built to commemorate Rhodian victory over Poliorcetes attempted siege of the city, it was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Before its destruction, the Colossus of Rhodes stood over 100 feet, making it the tallest statue of the ancient world.

A recent archeological dig on Rhodes uncovered the remains of the statue's pinky finger. Said to be imbued with the spirit of Helios himself, the remaining finger was melted down and used to make a giant robot. Taking the name of the great statue, Colossus of Rhodes became a modern day defender of the besieged.
