Growing up, Tamera King was only sure of two things. She loved cats, and she was extraordinarily healthy. Her mutation kicked in after her 14th birthday, and before the year was out, Tamera was a great deal more like the cats she cared for. However, with her metabolism thrust into overdrive, she girl lacked any focus at all. In an effort to help their daughter, her parents arranged for martial arts instruction in the hope that she could regain focus and dicipline. While they were partially succesful, Tam was hyper and reckless.

On the spur of the moment, Tamera baught a bus ticket to Paragon and registered herself as a hero. Though the then 19-year-old has had more then a few second thoughts, she continues to pounce evil as the Tam Khat.
