Character Bio

Daniel Heston was a normal boy dealing with the far from normal problems that came from living in Paragon City's "Steel Canyon" district. His apartment building was constantly being lit on fire by Hellions, and the Outcasts would shake him down for his lunch money every day on his way to school.

One day, when he was 14, a group of Outcasts demanded that Daniel join their crew or they'd kill his family. Feeling he had no choice in the matter, he agreed to undergo the Outcast initiation ritual of attempting to gain superpowers through burglary.

An accidental explosion in the Crey lab they were raiding gave Daniel his powers, and made him strong enough to fight back and capture the Outcasts who had threatened him. Countess Crey herself even insisted the Breaking and Entering charges against him be dropped.

Now Daniel patrols Steel Canyon as The Oven Hood, to ensure that no other children are forced into joining street gangs.
