Character Bio

Roger Baltenko was, and is, an accomplished archaeologist. He selected this career after serving a tour of duty in the U.S. Army, applying his considerable intellect and dedication to the rigors of reconstructing ancient cultures. It was during this time that he grew interested in rigorously testing the rituals described in some finds, rituals whose intricacies other archaeologists would have dismissed as 'magic'.

At the same time, he was trying to cope with the emerging manifestations of mutant powers. Baltenko turned to an old colleague, Dr. Neil Gavin, for help with both. Gavin hired him on to his research firm, Pinnacle BioMedical, under whose aegis Baltenko underwent a surgical procedure that enhanced his mind, refining his unfocused psychokinetic powers into a tightly controlled defensive effect, but left his face severely disfigured. He now works alongside Gavin, accompanying him on his quest for knowledge at any cost.

Oh, and he's a crazy psychic. (Gavin said so.)
