Stanley Steele was once a brilliant scientist who has always wanted to make the world a better place. Unfortunately, he wound up working for Crey Industries, until he found out about their illegal activities. Outraged, he quit.

He stole and modified some of Crey's scientific equipment for his own goals. Now, as Steel Strength, he's living out his childhood dream of being a superhero, and protects Paragon City from its villains.
