Once I was a debunker of the mystical arts. I exposed many frauds with my knowledge of science and laughed at the idea that anybody, hero or villain, had real magical powers. Then my work led me to the genuine article. Shocked and thrilled to discover a new metaphysical force, I began to study it thoroughly by replicating the rituals that I had seen others use. What could go wrong?

The extradimensional entities I summoned across the void persuaded me to take up a partnership with them. I would perform certain acts that pleased them and in exchange they would help me with further research. Surely both sides with benefit from our cooperation.
