Yasmin is an outcast Bedouin young woman. A few short months ago, while protecting herself from a suitor, it was discovered that she learned the art of the blades. She was punished for breaking the traditions of the tribe; she was scarred on her right cheekbone as a reminder for her crimes, and her family and friends no longer acknowledge her presence.

Now with no family to speak of, Yasmin packed her few possessions, along with food and water, and walked out of the camp and into the desert. As the last of the tribe's tents faded from view, a fast-moving wind overtook the young woman and literally whisked her out of the area. The desert gods could appreciate her heart and her courage to support what she believed in; and so they gifted her with the ability to call upon the heat of the desert to protect herself and punish those that sow evil.

Having arrived in another country and definitely a different culture, Yasmin adopted the name Kamiseen as her moniker.
