Alex believed she had become fully proficient in her abilities, those which came about as a result of an experimental program two years ago. She took the moniker of 'Northern Might' after transferring to Paragon City and affiliated herself with the Silver Guard.

She accompanied Marsius Denthar, the hero known as Crimsonstar and a Pulsar of the Andromedan Star Brigade, on a mission to the Rikti homeworld of Jennla in an attempt to put an end to the Rikti War. The mission was a success insofar as disrupting the Rikti plans for a short period.

However, a few weeks after returning to Earth, Alex noticed that her invulnerability and enhanced strength have both begun to fluctuate while her inexplicable mastery over the cold has increased.

City Hall has issued Alex a new hero license while she begins to master her newer ice-based abilities and she patrols the streets once again.
