He is a member of a group of Paladin warriors from Medieval times. He was chosen by his fellow Knights to try out a new spell of teleportation through time. He was naturally gifted at teleportation, so this made him the obvious choice. When he first tried out the spell, he teleported straight into the Rikti wars, and even helped a bit towards the end. The spell, however, was not strong enough to keep him in the present time and he was sent back soon after the war ended. He gathered the council of Knights together and they decided that he should go back to Paragon City and help fight the new wave of post-war criminals that were springing up like wildflowers after a Spring rain. He is honored to have been chosen for this task and has vowed to live up to his name: Aragon the Bold.
