Drunk after a night-long party celebrating the completion of an important project, Professor Harvey Brickland and Doctor Charles Adamson of the Institute for Supraphysical Research challenged each other to a wager. The winner would be the man who could create the most effective crime-fighting hero by stimulating a mutation in the molecules of his favourite food.

Unfortunately for Dr Adamson - or more precisely, for his wallet - Captain Double Cheeseburger failed to punch his weight, leaving Prof. Brickland's spawn of lobster thermidor to ply its trade on the mean streets of Paragon City.
