She trained in the art of poisons in an attempt to kill the ones who wronged her .... she managed to concoct a really nice healing alkaloid instead.
She trained in the dark arts in an attempt to control the undead .... and failed miserably, instead managing to summon a mercenary, which, she found, was almost as effective.
