Character Bio

Purple Hayez was an up an coming musician from Detroit in the 1960s when he was drafted into the Army. Anticipating a shortfall in supers in the case the Might for Right act was declared unconstitutional, Hayes was ordered to take part in a classified experiment to make him as super soldier. The experiment failed in it's inital goal, but it did give him the power to create illusions in other people. He escaped to the San Fransisco underground scene, where he made his living enhancing people's acid trips.

He remained underground until the 1980s, when he saw the drugs used to give him his abilities were now appearing on the streets in twisted forms, corrupting the youth of inner-city neighborhoods. He reached out to the Back Alley Brawler, who helped him become a full member of the Regulators. When the Rikti Invasion happened, he saw the Regulators destroyed.

He teaches music at a "gifted children"school in order to mentor younger heroes by day and continues his heroing in memory of the fallen Regulators
