Character Bio

When Karl Brown was growing up in the urban wastelands of Mercy Island, the only thing he ever found worth paying attention to in school was when the teacher talked about reptiles. The way that they evolved so many interesting traits that helped them both survive and kill in many different environments. When he got older, he tired of being a simple thug in the gang he joined &, on a lark, went to see a scientist in the Nerva Archipelago that some of the boys had been talking about. This scientist specialized in human/animal gene splicing. He'd had a few successes already, including a feral dogman that he called Doberman. Karl knew what he wanted to be spliced with & eagerly supplied the names of several species of reptile that had worthwhile traits: the komodo dragon, the skink, &, most importantly, the chameleon. The scientist experimented with Karls DNA, splicing the best reptile genes right alongside of his human DNA. Karl now pays off his debt through crimes as the Black Chameleon.
