Character Bio

Alma Slate started her career as a Mu Striker in the service of Arachnos, but it wasn't long before Crey captured her and made her a Paragon Protector. They thought that they had her powers under control, and they were pretty much right--but the antimagic field in the brainwashing facility didn't do any good when Slate managed to learn how to steal lab notes from Crey's research division.

Her handlers were careless, relying on the suppression of Slate's magic to keep them safe. It was not until Slate had perfected her design for an antigravity field generator that they realized the error of their ways; now free of confinement, Slate has largely abandoned her occult lore in favor of advanced technology. Rumor has it that she has been studying antigravity design principles under a Prof. Zantis, thus allowing her to create fields strong enough for personal flight (whereas Slate's original designs were only strong enough to throw off the flight paths of incoming attacks).
