Focus on Calamity J. has died down since the tabloid Paragon Insider ceased running its "Dubious Heroes" list but the rumors still follow her: a puppet for the Frost drug cartel; a hapless victim of mind control; a cold-blooded vigilante; a ruthless Malta agent infiltrating the network of heroes in Paragon City; an old villian returning in a new guise, either for deception or redemption.

CJ does and says little to confirm or contradict these stories about her. Her contacts claim that, though she seems impersonal, CJ keeps her head down and gets her work done, grumbling only when required to go underground. Even after two years in Paragon, her aversion to caves and sewers still lingers.
