Character Bio
Once Major Dan Griffin of the U.S.A.F., while on leave one week he ran into the Devouring Earth. They infected him with a transformation mutagen until Statesman came to his rescue. The nearby Greater Devoured fought Statesman back, enabling the virus to consume Dan, causing him to be turned to stone. The USAF refused to take him back into their fold, afraid that he would transform an entire flight. Unable to return to his posting, he resigned his commission and turned to the life of a hero. Calling himself the Incredible Charybdis, he is indeed the Rock and a Hard Place.
