Journal of Dr. Jordan Hastings:

I have always lived on the cutting edge of quantum field theory -- dedicated to achieving absolute zero experimentally, moving concepts such as perpetual motion and free energy from sci-fi into reality. When the Rikti attacked again, I was in a critical step of my latest attempt. One of the explosions shattered all the lab equipment, mixing chemicals in ways completely unknown and unintended. Noxious gasses were everywhere, I couldn't escape the fumes, ending up my own test subject. In the days following, I discovered I could shift my body temperature down to absolute zero. It developed another exciting side-effect. Exsisting at absolute zero is the ground state of a system. Some say it holds the energy of the creation of the cosmos. I now know this theory to be a fact. I have decided to register myself as a Hero and use my new-found power to help my beloved city rebuild yet again. I have taken for my name that which I now hold within, Zero-Point Energy.
