Character Bio

At the age of 10, Marshal Gaines fell in with a street gang and began his life of crime. During a mugging he hit an old lady over the head to steal her purse. He hit her too hard and the blow proved to be fatal. Before she died however, she laid a curse on him. She said, "Your black heart is an anchor, your deeds are the chain. Live in the darkness you have given me, and know my pain." From that day on, he was tortured by dark visions, and he found a strange chain link with him always. Marshal's only admirable quality was an indominable will. In time, this will allowed him to command his curse. Soon he could call up simple shadows, then solid forms. Finaly when his shadows could act on their own, he made them into an army. Later, he brought even his tormening demon under his power. Now he seeks to make his name in the Rouge Isles, any way he can. However, with each new evil deed, another link of his chain is formed. Now know as "Marshal Chain", he wears his cursed links as a warning and a badge.
