Character Bio

Denise de Ruijter, born 1984 to Catherine de Ruijter-Thompson and Tommy de Ruijter, was found to have unusual abilities as a toddler. Being able to lift twice her weight and throw unusually hard causing damage to property. After several doctors couldn’t find the cause of these abilities her parents decided to contact a different specialist. Doctor Samuel Mayflower was able to determine that Denise’s special abilities originated from the nucleus of her cells and that her cells were slowly transforming and generating more energy than a normal person. Using special guidance and training, Denise was able to learn and control her strength. Until at the age of 14 she got involved in an incident that nearly made her kill a fellow student during a prom dance. After this incident she was expelled from school. Two years later she moved to another city where a group of specialist would train her to become a hero.
She was recognized as a formidable hero when she lead her team to rescue a VIP, against the orders of their trainer, during what should have been a routine training mission. For outstanding performance and leadership she was awarded the highest reward ever given to any trainee. She was named Star Jewel by one of the city’s most recognized and famous heroes.
