Jantje van der Scheel is a contributing member of the Matsuda Institute's GRACE (Genetic Registry for Augmentation, Correction and Examination) Department, which, in affiliation with the city's own GIFT program, supplies a central database for the various city hospitals' medical data.

Its primary purpose is to support and advance research in genetic therapy, with a view to improve treatments for congenital maladies?as well as provide advice and medical assistance to individuals whose genetic makeup may confer on them some beneficial effects. Mutations of this caliber have been shown to interfere with conventional treatments on occasion, and the GRACE staff has earned a well-deserved reputation for ingenuity and conscientiousness in developing treatments precisely targeted to its patients.

Jantje is one of GRACE's most successful?and grateful?outpatients, not to mention one of their most fascinating cases. He now represents the Matsuda Institute as a registered hero.
